兩個大學生誤偷了一罐鮪魚罐頭，以爲被警察攔截是爲了此事，一場烏龍後，發現其實是店員被謀殺了。他們請了其中一位的表格 Vinny 做辯護律師。然而，Vinny則是剛拿到律師執照6周， 完全無經驗，帶著他的未婚妻。一場可能讓兩人喪命的懸案，最後被Vinny和未婚妻解決，完美結局。
此片最幽默的，是Vinny和他未婚妻吵架的3幕。第一是吵爲何水龍頭漏水，是否有關好。第二是爲何Vinny不贏這個訴訟，女友想結婚，第三次則是在法庭上，解決此案件。吵架是現代人不擅長的，不是吵完了就絕交，而是從吵架中認識對方，而Vinny及未婚妻的演技都一流。
片是1992年的，有些部分壟長可以刪除，但整體是蠻享受的。
